Check-In and Camp Introduction
The camp experience begins the moment campers arrive on campus. After checking in, dancers are welcomed by the Baylor dance instructors and introduced to the coaching staff, current Baylor dancers, and the day's schedule. This organized start helps campers feel comfortable, build new friendships, and begin the day with confidence before stepping onto the dance floor.
Warm-Ups and Dance Technique Training
After introductions, dancers move into warm-ups and dance technique training. Campers may work on skills such as kicks, turns, jumps, across the floor progressions, body control, flexibility, and performance quality. These drills help dancers build a strong foundation while learning what coaches look for at the collegiate level.
Choreography and Performance Work
A major part of the dance camp experience is learning choreography. Campers will be challenged to pick up routines, clean movements, and perform with confidence. This part of the dance camp schedule helps dancers improve memory, musicality, timing, sharpness, and overall execution.
Learn from Baylor Dancers
One of the most exciting parts of Baylor Dance Camps is connecting with current dancers from Baylor University dance. Campers can learn what it is like to be part of a college dance team, ask questions, and see the work ethic and energy that help make the Baylor program successful. These connections give campers a better understanding of collegiate dance training beyond just the skills.
A Complete College Dance Camp Experience
Baylor Dance Camps are designed to give dancers a true collegiate dance experience. Every activity, lesson, and interaction is focused on helping campers improve their technique, build confidence, connect with current Baylor dancers, and experience the culture of the Baylor dance program. By the end of camp, dancers leave with new skills, lasting friendships, and memories that will stay with them long after camp ends.
